Louisiana's Andrew Noto carded a three-under score of 140 to grab the lead after two rounds of play at the Carter Plantation Invitational in Springfield, La. The Ragin' Cajuns jumped into a tie for second place at the end of the first day with three golfers finish in the top-12.
Noto led the way for UL in the opening round, posting scores of 71 and 69 to finish at three-under. He leads Central Arkansas' Steven Lecuyer by one stroke.
Kyle Pritchard sits three strokes back with a total of 143 in a tie for sixth place. After shooting a one-over round of 73 early in the day, the senior bounced back with a with two-under score 70 in second round.
Philipp Fendt made up the most ground for the Cajuns after struggling with a 77 in the opening round. In the second part of play on Monday, Fendt fired a five-under round of 68 to finish the day tied for 12th place at even par.
Rice University sits in first place with a score of 579, one stroke ahead of the Cajuns' total of 580.
Mark Brockhurst carded a score of 154 (+10) and Ethan Savoy shot a 161 (+17) to conclude the scoring for the Cajuns.
Thomas Disch competed as an individual and shot rounds of 76 and 79 to finish at 11-over par.
The final round will wrap up tomorrow at beginning at 7:30 a.m.
