On day two of the World Vision Classic, No. 8 Baylor proved too much for Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team as UL fell, 89-42. Poor shooting beleaguered the Cajuns on the afternoon, hitting just 25.8 percent from the floor (16-62).

With the loss the Cajuns fall to 1-3 on the season. The Bears are now 5-1 on the season.

The Cajuns kept pace with the Bears through the first media timeout. Three-pointers by Alexis Green and Becky Hall allowed the Cajuns to stay within two points, 8-10, with 15:33 left in the first half.

But Baylor was able to post a 19-2 run over the next eight minutes and never looked back, leading 29-10 at the 7:45 mark.

At the half, Baylor was able to claim a 43-13 lead.

Poor shooting plagued the Cajuns in the first half, hitting only 16 percent of their shots (4-26). The Bears were able to knock down 51.4 percent of their baskets, hitting 18-of-35 from the floor.

The Cajuns streak of poor shooting continued in the second half with UL missing their first nine field goal attempts. The Bears were 5-of-6 from the floor to open the second half with 13-1 run.

At the final horn, Baylor was on top, 89-42.

Green led UL in scoring with nine points. Jessica Sigue contributed a career-high eight points in the loss.

The Bears were led by three players in double figures. Brittney Griner, a 6-foot-8 freshman, posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. She also had five blocks.

The Cajuns will close out the World Vision Classic on Sunday against Idaho. First tip is set for 12 p.m. CT.
