For Louisiana students, Ragin' Cajuns Football is a time of tailgating, cheering and having fun with friends. For a chosen number of girls, that passion runs deeper. These girls are the Ragin' Peppers.

The busiest time of the year for the Ragin' Peppers is in the fall during football season. These girls catch the first glimpse of the future of Ragin' Cajun football as they help make the recruits and their families feel at home. They help to keep up the morale of the team by offering them treats and decorating the locker room before each game. They also have their own cheering section at home games and are given a Ragin' Pepper shirt to wear to the game!
The Ragin' Peppers play a vital role in the hospitality of the recruits. On designated home games, high school recruits and their families visit Lafayette to see if UL is right for them. They tour the campus, the facilities, and the city in order to see if they want to become a Ragin' Cajun. The Ragin' Peppers show these potential Cajuns around the Hub City and help them feel welcome in Cajun Country. They provide recruits and their families with important information about the University and the city.
