Played sparingly, seeing action in only six games...Started in the designated hitter's slot the first two games of the Nebraska series...Did not collected a hit in 11 at bats...Pinch hit and saw time at catcher vs. Texas Southern...Saw time behind home plate at Arkansas State...After ASU game, did not play again until April 15 at Southeastern Louisiana.

2008

Started 16 games behind everyday catcher Blaine LaFleur...Appeared in 32 games, entering as a pinch hitter in 15 games and staying in the lineup to catch seven times...Hit .243 on the season, with 17 hits in 70 at bats, driving in eight runs on one double and one home run, and taking a free pass on seven occasions...Fourth in on-base percentage with a .376 mark...Stole the only base he attempted...Caught a team-high six runners stealing in 25 attempts...Committed only five errors in 146 chances as the backstop.
