2007-08 Sun Belt Conference Honor Roll

2008 (Sophomore): Played in all 12 games, starting eight at cornerback…Ranked seventh on the team in tackles…Had a career-high eight tackles, including seven solos vs. UTEP…Made two tackles-for-loss vs. Kent State…Tied for the team lead with six pass break-ups and ranked tied for ninth in the Sun Belt Conference in passes defended…Blocked a punt in the season-finale vs. MT that gave the Cajuns possession near midfield, setting-up a touchdown drive…Had an interception in the season-opener at USM…Forced a fumble at NT near midfield that set-up a TD drive… Took only kickoff return back 28 yards vs.
Kent State…Had five punt returns vs. Golden Flashes for 78 yards, including a long of 64 yards, which ranked as the second longest punt return in the SBC in 2008…Ranked fourth in the SBC in punt return average.

2007 (Freshman): Played in all 12 games at cornerback, starting a six game stretch beginning with the McNeese State game...Placed 12th on the team in tackles, second among cornerbacks...Had at least one tackle in 10 games, making a season-high six stops at ASU...Made 20 of 27 tackles during conference play...Collected first career interception vs. NT...Notched a tackle-for-loss vs. Troy.

Mainland Regional: First Team All-State Class 5A as a senior...Had five interceptions and broke up 18 passes, while blocking four kicks.

Personal: Full name is Orkeys Leon Auriene, Jr...Born on March 11, 1989...Son of Orkeys Auriene and April Truitt...Has one sister, Or’keshia Auriene...Wanted to wear No. 2 in honor of former Cajuns cornerback and current Arizona Cardinals defensive back Michael Adams.
