2005-06 Sun Belt Conference Honor Roll

2007 (Junior): Played in all 12 games at linebacker, starting 10 contests...Did not start vs. Troy or at FIU...Was third on the team in total tackles and second in solo stops... Ranked 20th in the Sun Belt in tackles per game...Made four or more tackles in nine games...Had a season-high 10 tackles, including eight solos, in the season finale vs. ULM...Made a tackle-for-loss at SC and vs. McNeese...Recovered a fumble at UCF.

2006 (Sophomore): Played in and started 11 games, missing the game vs. North Carolina A&T with a hamstring injury...Led the team with 61 total tackles, including nine tackles vs. Middle Tennessee and vs. North Texas...Had at least four tackles in eight games...Made 42 tackles in seven Sun Belt games, ranking 12th in the SBC...Involved in a TFL in six games...Shared a sack with Wes Simon at Houston...Recovered a fumble at Houston and Florida Atlantic.

Parkview Baptist: Named 2003 Defensive MVP of All-Metro, All-District 8-3A, and All-State teams...Was a two-time First Team All-State selection...Led state with 153 tackles during his junior campaign and 168 tackles during his senior year.

Personal: Full name is Brenton Doyle Burkhalter...Born on December 30, 1985...Son of Bryan and Camille Burkhalter.
