2009 (Junior): GRADUATED MAY 2010 (Mathematics) Played in 10 games, missing games at Nebraska and vs. North Texas due to a knee injury...Was used as a fullback, tight end and on special teams...Had one carry for minus-one yard vs. La.-Monroe...Made two receptions for 15 yards...First catch went for 13 yards at LSU, while second catch was a two-yard touchdown pass from Chris Masson at Western Kentucky...Also added two tackles...Named Cajuns Offensive Player of the Game twice during the season.

2008 (Sophomore): Started the season at tight end, but moved to linebacker five games into the season...Played in all 12 games, mostly on special teams...Made first career reception, a 16-yard strike from his brother Michael, vs. Kent State.

2007 (Freshman Redshirt): Appeared in the first two games on specials teams before suffering a season-ending ankle injury.

2006 (Freshman): Redshirted, did not play.

Catholic: Two-time All-District 6-3A selection, led Catholic to a 9-1 regular season record and a 6-3A title as a senior in 2005...Rushed for just under 700 yards and averaged 6.5 per carry as a senior...Rushed for 267 as a junior in earning an all-district honor...Played linebacker during sophomore season...Class 3A's state champion powerlifter in the 220-pound class with bests of 510 squat, 330 bench and 540 dead lift.

Personal: Full name is Matthew Joseph Desormeaux...Born July 11, 1987...Son of Bill and Patty Desormeaux...Has two older brothers, Beau and Michael, who played quarterback at UL from 2005-08, and one older sister, Lili...Distant cousin of Kentucky Derby winning jockey Kent Desormeaux.
