Bill Bass Open To Be Held This Weekend

LAFAYETTE, La. - Homecoming is this week, and that means it's time for the Bill Bass Open golf tournament. And you're invited to join other friends, golfers and Ragin' Cajun supporters for an afternoon of golf, fun and good times.
The tournament is scheduled for this Friday, Oct. 5, one day prior to UL's Homecoming contest against Tulane, and will be held at Les Vieux Chenes Golf Club. The four-person scramble has registration and lunch at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.
The Bill Bass Open raises funds for the Ragin' Cajun golf team and the Bill Bass Scholarship Fund, and also provides the opportunity to meet several members of the UL squad as well as many former Cajun athletes who annually take part in the tournament.
Players may put together their own four-person team (handicaps will be used to allow all a chance at winning) or may enter as individuals to be placed onto teams. Special Ragin' Cajun prize packages will be given to the winners, and there will also be opportunities to win prizes at several special holes set up around the course.
Entry fee is $125 per player or $500 per team including lunch, cart, range balls, beverages on the course, all prizes and a gift bag that includes a golf shirt, a UL camp and a Homecoming T-shirt. Credit cards, checks or cash are accepted. An entry form is attached, and forms are also available at all Lafayette golf courses and golf retail outlets, at the UL Alumni Association and the UL Athletic Department.
