Brignac Picks up SBC Pitcher of the Week Honors

LAFAYETTE, La. -- Ashley Brignac was named the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
The weekly honor is the second SBC accolade picked up by the senior and the ninth overall for the No. 7/8 Cajuns (38-2, 13-2), who wrapped up their six game road trip with a 5-1 record.
Brignac tossed four complete games, including two shutouts, improving her record to 15-2 on the year. She was lights out all weekend and hurled her sixth one-hitter of the season in an 8-0 victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday. The senior moved into third place all-time in school history with her 85th career victory on Sunday. The River Ridge, La., native is third on the Sun Belt Conference career charts for wins and strikeouts (792).
The Ragin' Cajuns return to action this weekend as they play host to FAU in a three game series. The two squads will play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 21, and will air on the Sun Belt Network (Comcast Sports Southeast and Cox Sports TV). Game one will air live at 11:05 a.m. CT with Game two airing on delay. The game will also be available on ESPN3.com outside of the Sun Belt Network footprint.
The series finale is scheduled for Sunday, April 22 at 1:05 and will be broadcasted by local television KLAF.
