Softball Jumps One Spot in Latest National Polls

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Ragin' Cajuns softball team jumped one spot in both national polls, including their highest position of the season, No. 6, in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll, which were released Tuesday.
Louisiana (41-2, 16-2) leaped one spot to No. 7 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, marking the sixth consecutive week the Cajuns have been in the top 10 of both national rankings.

Coming off a sweep of FAU, UL returns to the field this weekend as they travel to Bowling Green, Ky. to face conference opponent Western Kentucky in a three game series, April 28-29.
The Cajuns hold a four game lead, plus the tiebreaker over South Alabama, and can capture their 11th regular season SBC championship in 12 years by winning two games over the Lady Toppers this weekend.
