LAFAYETTE, La. - The 64th ranked Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team is set to close out its home slate on Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Cajuns host Lamar on Senior Day at Cajun Courts.
“I know the team is looking for to the final home match of the season,” head coach Mark Jeffrey said. “Looking back at the careers of Yanick and Carlin, they have grown to be fine young men. I believe they will be very productive citizens in the community after graduation.
“This is a time for them to live in the moment and put their best foot forward. Hopefully over the next few weeks we can build some steam as we head into conference championships. This is an exciting time to be a Cajuns men's tennis player.”
Seniors Yanick Mandl and Carlin Murray have combined for over 100 wins while at UL. Mandl holds an 8-5 singles record this spring, while Murray is 7-9 and has a win against a top 25 opponent.
The Cajuns (12-6) has been successful at home as they own a 7-2 record at Cajun Courts this season with the only two losses coming to No.6 Kentucky and No.60 St. John's.
Freshman Jarred Wynan carries a team-best eight-match win streak into the Lamar contest. Ted Nilsson also is looking to extend his six-match win streak.
