LAFAYETTE – Ragin' Cajuns Baseball Summer Camps are scheduled to begin this weekend as head coach Tony Robichaux and staff host their annual Father & Son Camp Saturday-Sunday, June 16-17.
The Father & Son Camp is the first of six camp sessions being offered by Robichaux and his staff this summer. Registration is $245, with a $50 fee per additional child. The camp will run 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday (lunch included) and 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Sunday.
The remaining camp sessions (sessions 2-6) will be held the week of June 18-22, June 25-29, July 9-13, July 16-20 and July 23-27.
The Ragin' Cajun Baseball Camps are geared to provide coaching, competition and facilities necessary for improvement through fundamental drills, hard work and game situations. Information will also be given on having a positive mental attitude, goal setting and other skills designed to make a difference in fulfilling potential both on and off the field.
Camps are open to children ages 7-13 and discounts are available for team and multiple child applications. Discounts are also available for children signing up for multiple sessions (multiple session discounts apply only to camp sessions 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6).
Registration for all camps may be completed online by clicking the Camps link in the Fan Zone drop down menu on RaginCajuns.com. All registration questions should be directed to the Student Union Athletic/Summer Camps coordinators at 337-482-6380.
Half day sessions require a $215 fee ($190 if pre-registered by established deadline) and full day sessions require a $245 fee ($220 if pre-registered by established deadline).
UL Faculty and Staff receive a 10 percent discount for children & grandchildren; teams of five or more receive a 15 percent discount per camper; and multiple children registrations feature a discount of 25 percent for the second child and 50 percent for three children and above.
Half day sessions are scheduled for 9 a.m.-12 p.m., with a full day session set to run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. All camps end at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
Morning and afternoon sessions will begin and end at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field. Other areas such as Bourgeois Hall and the Leon Moncla Indoor Practice Facility may be utilized during inclement weather.
Campers will need to bring their own glove, bat, tennis shoes and cleats. Please mark all equipment prior to camp.
Drop off and pick up will be located on the first base side of M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field. Campers may be dropped off one hour prior to the start of the camp and picked up no later than 30 minutes at the end of each daily session.
