Volleyball Holds Clean Up Day at Earl K. Long Gym

LAFAYETTE – The Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team recently took time out of their busy practice schedule to perform a few “housecleaning” duties at their home, Earl K. Long Gym.
In what has become an annual event since head coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot took charge of the program in January 2008, the squad covered dispersed throughout the facility on Saturday, Aug. 18 – both the office space and arena portion – to have their home in tip-top shape for the home opening weekend. The squad hosts the Bon Temps Invitational at Long Gym over Labor Day weekend (Aug. 31-Sept. 1).
“We scrubbed floors, polished brass, cleaned windows and a lot of other jobs that shall remain nameless,” Mazeitis-Fontenot remarked. “Anyway, we just feel like this is 'our house' and we are going to take care of it better than anyone.”
