LAFAYETTE, La. – The Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team is back in action for its second fall event of the season this weekend, beginning Saturday at the USTA Houston Futures event being held at Rice University's George R. Brown Tennis Center.

"I'm looking forward to this weekend with an event where the guys will face top-notch competition against the pros," head coach Mark Jeffrey said. "Our guys are now ranked inside the ATP top 1000, so this a level they have seen before and will feel very comfortable in."

Louisiana will field four players – Edgard Lopez, Damian Farinola, Jake Wynan and Vlad Kramarov – in the singles qualifying draw. Play begins on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.

"Only positives will come out of this weekend and the guys will compete hard to further their world rankings," Jeffrey added. "This tournament is for their future careers, in addition to helping this program compete amongst the world's best."

The Cajuns last took the court two weeks ago at home in the Cajun Tennis Classic, one of the premier fall events in the nation. Meanwhile, this weekend is one of two USTA Futures events on the slate, and the final prep for the NCAA Southern Regionals in two weeks in Auburn, Ala.
