Cajuns Take On LSU-Eunice In Wednesday Night Game

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team closes out competition for the month of October on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Cajuns' American Heart Association Game against LSU-Eunice at Lamson Park. Admission is free to the event.

The Lady Bengals are coming off a 64-3 season and a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II title. Now in his seventh season, head coach Andy Lee has compiled a 324-56 record with three national titles (2011, 2013, 2014) and held at No. 1 national ranking at some point during the season the past five years.

After a sixth trip to the Women's College World Series in 2014, Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year Michael Lotief returns 22 letterwinners including five All-Sun Belt selections (Christina Hamilton, Lexie Elkins, Haley Hayden, Shellie Landry, Kelsey Vincent) and two All-Americans (Hamilton, Elkins) for the 2015 season. In 2014, the Cajuns posted a 49-10-1 mark, taking home both the SBC regular season and tournament titles. In the postseason, Louisiana took down national powers Texas and Arizona to reach Oklahoma City.

Following Wednesday's game, the Cajuns next travel to Gulfport, Miss., Sunday, Nov. 2 to take on 2014 WCWS participant Florida State in a 2 p.m. doubleheader. Louisiana will wrap up its fall competition the following week with an Alumni Game on Sunday, Nov. 9. A game time is still yet to be determined.
