FOR STARTERS
A pair of road wins last week pushed the Ragin' Cajuns squarely back into the hunt for a berth in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament in San Marcos, Texas. Louisiana knocked off South Alabama and Troy last week in Alabaama, and now turns its sights to its lone match of the week, Friday at home against UT Arlington.
The Mavericks picked up a 3-1 win over the Ragin' Cajuns on Sept. 21 at the College Park Center, and carry an 11-match win streak in the series into Friday's match-up. The Ragin' Cajuns magic number sits at four to earn a berth into the league tournament, and would be the No. 7 seed if it were to start today.Â

QUICK HITS
- Head coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot eclipsed the 100-win plateau at Louisiana over the weekend, making her the third head coach in program history to reach 100 wins as a Ragin' Cajun. The only two other UL head coaches to do so are Wilo Colon (132) and Sherry LeBas (111).
- The weekend's two wins brings UL win total on the year to 18, just two shy of reaching 20 wins for the 12th time in program history, but the first time since 1990.Â
- The Ragin' Cajuns weekend vaulted them from a spot outside the conference tournament to squarely in if it were to start today. With two weekends remaining in the season UL has three matches left and a magic number of four to clinch a spot in the tournament.
- Friday's match vs South Alabama was the eighth time UL has been stretched to five sets this season, going 5-3 in those matches. It is the most five-set matches in a season for the Ragin' Cajuns since the 2002 had eight five-setters, and the the most five-set wins since the 2001 team picked up five wins in the full five sets.Â
- Senior Caitlyn Auxilien's recently moved past Erika Castro for third all-time at UL in career digs with 1,716. She trails Lindsay Brown by 147 for second place.Â
- Andrea Hole ranks fifth in the SBC with 10.17 assists per set. She surpassed the 2,000-assist mark for her career at Texas State and her 2,528 assists currently ranks third all-time at UL in the rally era at Louisiana.Â
