Plenty Of Activities Slated For Cajuns-App State Game

Cajuns to honor senior class prior to game; halftime fireworks scheduled
LAFAYETTE – With the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team's 2014 home finale slated for Saturday against Appalachian State, plenty of pre-game and halftime activities will be scheduled at Cajun Field.
Kickoff for the first-ever meeting between Louisiana (7-3, 6-0 Sun Belt) and Appalachian State (5-5, 4-2 Sun Belt) is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Prior to the game, which is Military Appreciation Day, the Ragin' Cajuns most successful football senior class in school history will be honored before members of the military will joining the Ragin' Cajuns as they make their way onto the field prior to kickoff.
A special coin will be used for the official coin toss and a Chevrolet truck will be given away to a wounded veteran. A military slideshow will be presented on the Ragin' Cajuns video board and a ceremony will be held to honor the late Captain Steven L. Bennett, a UL alum and Vietnam veteran who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor in 1974.
At halftime, a fireworks display is scheduled and former Ragin' Cajuns great and current Chicago Bears star Charles "Peanut" Tillman will be honored as his No. 5 jersey worn from 1999-2002 will become the eighth number in school history to be retired.
All fans are encouraged to enter the stadium early for all pre-game festivities. Tickets are available by calling the Cajundome Box Office at (337) 265-2100 or on-line at RaginCajuns.com.
