KANSAS CITY, Mo. -
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced Monday afternoon.

For the 2013-14 academic year, the Cajuns recorded a 3.25 grade point average (GPA) to garner their second-straight NSCAA honor, improving upon their 3.02 GPA from the 2012-13 academic year.

"I am very proud of the girls for earning this national academic award," said head coach Scot Wieland. "They have made a commitment to the classroom and continue to impress me with their work ethic on and off the field."

To qualify for the national academic award, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for the academic year.

Since 2003, the Cajuns have recorded at least a 3.0 GPA 10 times (2003-04, 2006-11, 2013-14) with eight of those years under head coach Scot Wieland.
