LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team (6-0) will look for their best start in program history Wednesday when the squad hosts No. 20 Mississippi State (11-0) at 11 a.m. at the Cajundome.
Fans attending all home men's and women's basketball games during the month of December can take advantage of a Buy-One, Get-One Free ticket promotion. All tickets part of the promotion are located in the 300-level of the Cajundome. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Cajundome Box Office at (337) 265-2100, or can be purchased in-person at the Cajundome Box Office. Tickets are available in advance or on each game day.
Cajuns Match Best Start in Program History
- Despite shooting a season-low 35 percent from the field and committing a season-high 21 turnovers, the Cajuns were able to pull out a 58-52 victory over Southern-New Orleans at home on Saturday to match their best start in program history at 6-0
- The Cajuns forced 15 second half turnovers that turned into 13 points as Louisiana erased a halftime deficit
- Junior forward Jasmin Mills came off the bench to lead the Cajuns with 12 points while adding eight boards, six being offensive
- In 1983, the Cajuns started off the season 6-0 under first-year head coach Ross Cook, eventually recording the program's first 20-win season with a 22-6 record
A Look at the Bulldogs
- After its 104-41 romp of Mississippi Valley State on Monday, the Bulldogs equaled their best start in program history at 11-0
- Through Monday's games, Mississippi State ranks in the top five nationally in points per game (89.2, 5th), scoring margin (+31.4, 5th), and turnover margin (+10.6, 3rd). The Bulldogs top the country in offensive rebounds with 21 per game
- Wednesday's contest will be just the third road game for the Bulldogs in 12 games, facing only New Orleans and Southern Miss away from Starkville this season
- Freshman forward Victoria Vivians leads MSU with 16.3 points per game, and has hit a team-high 25 three-pointers this season
- Freshman guard Morgan William comes off the bench to average 11.7 points, second for the Bulldogs, and a team-high 4.5 assists per game

- Arkansas State was picked first with 118 points, receiving nine of the 11 first-place votes, while UALR was a close second with 112 points and two first-place votes
- Texas State (93), Georgia State (82) and Troy (70) rounded out the top five in the poll
Veal, Wilridge Named All-SBC Preseason
- Junior guards Keke Veal and Kia Wilridge were selected to the All-Sun Belt Conference Preseason Team, voted on by the league's head coaches
- Veal was named to the second team while Wilridge earned a spot on the third team
