LAFAYETTE, La. - After a week off for the Christmas holiday, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team returns to action Sunday when the squad hosts Jackson State in the final non-conference game of the season at 4 p.m. at the Cajundome. 

Last Time Out
- Alcorn State ended the second half on a 10-0 run to force overtime, but Louisiana outscored the Lady Braves 10-3 in the extra period to pull out a 64-57 road win to improve to 7-1 on the season
- Sophomore guard Jaylyn Gordon led the Cajuns with 22 points, shooting 11-of-12 from the free-throw line, in a team-high 39 minutes of action
- Junior guard Kia Wilridge added 17 points in just 21 minutes on the floor
- Louisiana totaled 22 points off 18 ASU turnovers while holding the Lady Braves to 29.6 percent shooting for the game
- The Cajuns finished with a 34.7 shooting percentage and hit 26-of-32 from the charity stripe for the most points scored from the line and the second-best percentage (81.3) this season
 
A Look at the Lady Tigers
- Jackson State enters Sunday's contest with a 3-7 record on the year. However, JSU has won three of its last six with five games being played away from home.
- The Lady Tigers are coming off a 62-61 overtime victory over Northwestern State last week. JSU also beat Murray State in overtime this season while dropping a game to LSU in extra time
- Redshirt senior forward Ayanna Hardy-Fuller leads the Lady Tigers with 13.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. Senior guard Dominique Brothern is the Lady Tigers' second-leading scorer with 9.6 points while also adding a team-best 2.3 steals per contest.

Series History
- Louisiana holds a 2-1 lead in the all-time series vs. Jackson State
- The Cajuns have won the last two meetings, defeating the Lady Tigers last season in Jackson, 81-64, after a 68-57 win over JSU during the 2012-13 season
- The series began back in 1991 when Jackson State recorded a 67-51 win at the USM Lady Eagle Classic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Cajuns Match Best Start in Program History
- After their win over Southern-New Orleans, the Cajuns matched their best start in program history at 6-0
- In 1983, the Cajuns started off the season 6-0 under first-year head coach Ross Cook, eventually recording the program's first 20-win season with a 22-6 record
 
Cajuns Picked Sixth in the Sun Belt
- After tying for seventh in the Sun Belt Conference a season ago, the league's 11 head coaches tabbed the Cajuns sixth with 64 points in the SBC Preseason Poll
- Arkansas State was picked first with 118 points, receiving nine of the 11 first-place votes, while UALR was a close second with 112 points and two first-place votes
- Texas State (93), Georgia State (82) and Troy (70) rounded out the top five in the poll

Veal, Wilridge Named All-SBC Preseason
- Junior guards Keke Veal and Kia Wilridge were selected to the All-Sun Belt Conference Preseason Team, voted on by the league's head coaches
- Veal was named to the second team while Wilridge earned a spot on the third team
- Louisiana was joined by Arkansas State, Georgia State, South Alabama, Texas State and UALR in placing a league-high two players on the preseason team
