Schools to meet on Sept. 10, 2016 at Cajun Field
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and McNeese State University announced on Thursday a non-conference football game scheduled for Sept. 10, 2016 at Cajun Field.
Â
The meeting will be the 38th between the schools and the first since 2007. The game against McNeese State, a member of the Southland Conference, will be one of three non-conference games already penciled in on the Ragin' Cajuns 2016 schedule with a season-opening date at home against Boise State (Sept. 3) and a road visit to Tulane (Oct. 8).
Â
"It shapes up for another outstanding non-conference home schedule in 2016," Louisiana Director of Athletics Scott Farmer said. "Having a nationally-recognized program in Boise State coming here will be very exciting for our fans, and to follow it up with a very respectable in-state program in McNeese State that will bring a lot of fans. The atmosphere for both of those games will be outstanding, somewhat like the atmosphere of our first two games (Southern, Louisiana Tech) of this season."
Â
Louisiana, which finished 9-4 and earned its third consecutive victory in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, will open the 2014 season at home on Aug. 30 against Southern University. Season tickets are available by calling the Cajundome Box Office at (337) 265-2100 or on-line at www.RaginCajuns.com
