The Ragin' Cajuns open up the 2014 season on Friday with the first of three weekend matches at the Adidas Rice Invitational in Houston. Fans can follow the matches via live stats for each match, or pay for video for Saturday's match vs Rice.Â

Louisiana will kick off its home slate next weekend when it hosts the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic at Earl K. Long Gym. The Ragin' Cajuns will welcome Southern, Southern Miss, Nicholls State and Northwestern State to the two-day event before returning to Houston once again to close out pre-conference play at the Flo Hyman Classic, hosted by the University of Houston.

• The Ragin' Cajuns are coming off a 19-14 season in 2013, its most wins since the 1997 season. Its .575 win percentage was the highest for the program since the 1990 team went 32-12 (.727).
• The Ragin' Cajuns have won three of their last five season-opening matches and are 3-3 in season openers under head coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot.
• This will be the first meeting on the volleybeall court between the Ragin' Cajuns and both Fresno State and UC Davis. Louisiana is looking for its first-ever win over Rice as the Owls hold a 7-0 all-time reocrd over the Ragin' Cajuns.Â
• Louisiana was picked sixth in the Sun Belt Conference preseason poll, earning 63 points and one first-place vote. UALR was picked as the preseason league favorite, while defending SBC Tournament champion Texas State was picked second.Â
• Senior setter Andrea Hole was a preseason all-Sun Belt Conference selection for 2014 after earning All-SBC second team honors a year ago. She averaged 10.52 assists per set as a junior, ranking third in the Sun Belt. Her 1,369 career assists ranks fifth in the Louisiana record books in the rally era.
• Senior Caitlyn Auxilien enters this season with 1,279 career digs, which ranks third in the rally era at Louisiana. She needs just 35 digs to move into the all-time top five for the Ragin' Cajuns.
