Complete 2014-15 Men's Basketball Schedule

LAFAYETTE, La. – A trip to Las Vegas and 15 home games at the Cajundome highlight the 2014-15 Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball schedule, released Monday by head coach Bob Marlin.

The Ragin' Cajuns, whose 13 wins in the Cajundome were the most home wins in 23 years, will open the home schedule on Nov. 14 against Louisiana College following a Nov. 5 exhibition game against Loyola-New Orleans.

That game will serve as the lone warm-up before the team jumps into the MGM Grand Main Event with four games going from Nov. 17-26.

The Main Event tips off for Louisiana with road games at Tulsa and Auburn on Nov. 17 and 21 before the team heads to Las Vegas the week of Nov. 24 at the MGM Grand Hotel for games against Oral Roberts and a Milwaukee squad that won 21 games a year ago.

"We are excited about the 2014-15 season and the challenge it presents," Marlin said. "We play an exciting non-conference schedule, highlighted by the MGM Grand Main Event in Las Vegas, which includes games against AAC member Tulsa and SEC member Auburn. In addition, our in-state non-conference schedule will be a challenging in itself with games against teams such as Northwestern State, McNeese State and Louisiana Tech."

Following the Main Event, Louisiana returns home for four of its next five games, with a Dec. 6 road game at McNeese State sandwiched around home games against Jackson State (Dec. 3) and Louisiana Tech (Dec. 10).

The Cajuns will host Milligan College on December 17 before non-conference play ends with a road game at in-state opponent Northwestern State on Dec. 20.

Sun Belt competition then opens on Dec. 30 when the Cajuns travel to Little Rock to square off with UALR. All league teams will have to navigate a 20-game league slate that is made up of double-round robin play.

"Our conference schedule is unique this year with the 20-game schedule," Marlin said. "It will be a grind for everyone, but will also be very competitive."

January includes five home dates for Louisiana, as well as trips to SBC newcomers Appalachian State (Jan. 5) and Georgia Southern (Jan. 15). The Cajuns also take on defending SBC regular season champion Georgia State twice within a three-week span, with the Panthers coming to the Cajundome on Jan. 8 and the Ragin' Cajuns returning the favor with a trip to Atlanta on Jan. 24.

The Ragin' Cajuns will also host in-state rival ULM on Jan. 19 before heading north on Feb. 12 to close out the season series. February home games include looks at the four most recent additions to the Sun Belt: Appalachian State, UT Arlington Texas State and Georgia Southern.

The calendar then turns to March with the Ragin' Cajuns wrapping up the home schedule on March 5 versus UALR, and the regular season on March 7 at Arkansas State.

Louisiana will then be charged with the task of defending its Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship when the SBC Tournament kicks off March 12 at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans.
