FOR STARTERS
The Ragin' Cajuns will be looking to put an end to a three-game losing streak on Thursday when they host Arkansas State. Despite the three-game skid, the Cajuns still find themselves just two games back of first place in the league, just over a quarter of the way through the league slate.

THE LAST TIME OUT
A cold shooting night plagued the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on Monday night as they dropped their third consecutive game, 57-55, to ULM at the Cajundome.

Louisiana shot a season-low 32.7 percent from the field and were just 2-for-18 from beyond the three-point line against the Warhawks who maintained sole possession of first place in the Sun Belt Conference with the win.

The Ragin' Cajuns entered the night averaging better than 92 points per game and shooting 41 percent from three on its home floor, but shot below 35 percent and hit just one three in each half against a ULM defense who came in with the second-best scoring defense in the league.

The loss negated another strong performance from Shawn Long, who finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and three blocks on the night. Devonta Walker also pulled in nine boards and put in 15 points, hitting all five of his foul shots, including four in the game's final four minutes. In all, Louisiana was 17-for-18 at the foul line on the night.

Louisiana trailed the entire first half, going into the halftime break down 32-30 after a late surge; however, they led by as much as four in the second half and by three as late as eight minutes into the second period. Brian Williams cut the lead to 50-47 with 7:34 to play with a layup, but that was the final field goal for the Cajuns for the game as they scored each of their final eight points of the game at the foul line and went just 1-for-5 from the floor in the final eight minutes.

UP NEXT
Monday's game opens up a three-game week for the Cajuns with a home meeting with Arkansas State awaiting UL on Thursday before traveling to Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday to take on Georgia State for the second time this season.

QUICK HITS

Shawn Long's 22-point, 22-rebound game against South Alabama was the first 20/20 game by a Cajun since Dan Gay had 21 points and 20 rebounds against McNeese State on March 7, 1981.

• UL shot a season-low 32.7 percent against ULM on Monday night, and the 55 points was the lowest for the Cajuns on their home floor since scoring 55 on Nov. 19, 2010 against Cleveland State.

• Saturday's loss to South Alabama snapped a 12-game home win streak for the Ragin' Cajuns. It was the longest home win streak for UL in the Bob Marlin era.

• UL won 10 of its first 11 games when out-rebounding its opponent, but has dropped each of its last three games despite being +9 on the glass in each game.

• Louisiana had its streak of eight straight games scoring at least 80 points snapped at Georgia Southern. It was the longest such streak for UL since the 1989-90 squad had 11 straight 80+-point games to start the season.
