Cajuns Softball Holds First Spring Practice Tuesday

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team began preparations for the upcoming 2015 season Tuesday by holding their first official team practice.
"It is good for us to all be together again," said head coach Michael Lotief. "We are excited that opening day is a month away. This group works extremely hard and understands the importance of preparation. Every day from here on out, we understand the challenge ahead to get better together."

Coming off its sixth trip to the Women's College World Series in 2014, Louisiana returns 22 letterwinners from last season's historic campaign in addition to bringing on 11 newcomers and three redshirts. In 2014, the Cajuns posted a 49-10-1 record with a 19-1 mark in the Sun Belt Conference.

The Cajuns will play 30 games at Lamson Park in 2015, including three home tournaments during the month of February to open the season. The Cajuns host the 2015 Louisiana Classic, Feb. 6-8, the 2015 Mardi Gras Classic, Feb. 13-15, and the 2015 Ragin' Cajuns Invitational, Feb. 20-22.

Fans wishing to purchase 2015 softball season tickets can do so by calling the Cajundome Box Office at (337) 265-2357, going online to RaginCajuns.com or visiting the Box Office in-person. Season ticket prices for the 2015 season are $295 for chairback seating (sections 105-109, 207), $240 for benchback (sections 205-206 and 208-209) and $110 for general admission (outfield).
