LAFAYETTE, La. – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball junior shortstop Blake Trahan added to his preseason accolades as he was named to the Perfect Game Preseason All-American Second Team, Perfect Game announced on Friday.
"This is a great honor for Blake and our program," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "He has been an important part of the success that we have achieved the last couple years, but if you were to ask him he would say none of this would be possible without his teammates. Blake is not only a great player, but he is also a great person off of the field and I am glad he is getting recognized for the hard work and effort that he has put in."
Trahan was also named to the Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-American Team in December. The Kinder, La., native is coming off of a sophomore campaign where he hit .355 with 12 doubles, two triples, four home runs and drove in 49 runs. Trahan also had a .455 on base percentage and stole 15 bases while fielding .966 with only 10 errors in 68 games.
A 2014 ABCA First Team All-American, Trahan spent the summer playing with the Team USA Collegiate National Team. Trahan was one of six Cajuns to earn All-American honors last season.
The Ragin' Cajuns are set to open the 2015 season on the road at UTSA on Feb. 13-15 in San Antonio, Texas.
