Women's Tennis Closes Out NSU Fall Invite

NATCHITOCHES, La. -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team completed their second tournament of the fall season this weekend at the Northwestern State Fall Invitational.
In the Flight 3 singles semifinals, Louisiana freshman Heather Mixon defeated Alzbeta Veverkova of Northwestern State, 1-6, 6-3 (4) in the opening round and followed that up with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Dhanielly Quevedo of Stephen F. Austin in the semifinals.
Cajuns junior Dana Brankovic prevailed over Southeastern Louisiana's Madina Vorotnikova, 7-6 (6), 7-5 in Flight 5 of the consolation semifinal bracket.
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are back in action next week as they travel to Auburn, Ala. for the ITA Southern Regional from Thursday, Oct. 15 through Saturday, Oct. 17.
