LAFAYETTE – The No. 8 seeded Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team (8-9-2, 2-6-1 SBC) faces the No. 1 seeded South Alabama Jaguars (15-2-1, 9-0 SBC) in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament opening round on Wednesday, Nov. 4 for a 12 p.m. (CST) first kick. Due to inclement weather conditions, the matches were moved from the Georgia State Soccer Complex to the LakePoint Sporting Community in Emerson, Ga.

If the Cajuns win their first round matchup with South Alabama, they will face the winner of fifth-seeded Little Rock and fourth-seeded Appalachian State in the SBC Tournament semifinals on Friday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m.

Last Wednesday, the Cajuns ended the 2015 regular season with a 3-2 double-overtime loss at ULM. Sophomore forward Ashleigh Cade scored her third goal in her last four matches, while fellow sophomore Whitney Taggart secured her first goal of the season in the conference affair. Freshman goalkeeper Cosette Morche saved eight shots, raising her total to 94.

The two foes met back on Oct. 2 in Lafayette, with the Jaguars prevailing, 2-1 in double overtime. The Cajuns tied the match at 1-1 on a goal by Taylor Kennedy with nearly 7 ½ minutes left in regulation. The match was decided in the second overtime when South Alabama's Rio Hardy kicked the ball inside the goalie box to Charde Hannah who knocked the ball into the left corner of the net.

This marks the third straight and 12th overall appearance in Sun Belt Conference Tournament for the Cajuns.
