NICEVILLE, Fla. -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team had a pair of players, senior Jake Wynan and junior Will Huyton advance in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) qualifying round in Florida on Friday.
The Cajun teammates took care of their opponents in two sets. Huyton, a native of Stamford, England won his matchup 6-1, 6-0, while Wynan, a native of Nimmitabel (Australia) prevailed 6-0, 6-4.
"It was really good to see Will get his first professional win as an amateur," Ragin' Cajuns head coach Mark Jeffrey said. "Jake is also starting to perform well in his last couple of outings so we look for another solid day tomorrow from both of them."
Wynan is slated to face Jamie Vance on the second day of the USTA Qualifiers on Saturday, while Huyton draws Gandhi Bhakatavian tomorrow.
