Thirty-Four Student Athletes Among 2015 Fall Semester Graduating Class

LAFAYETTE – Thirty-four Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns student-athletes were among a total of 1,362 graduates who received degrees from the University during ceremonies on Friday.

Members of all 16 of the Ragin' Cajuns athletic programs were represented in the largest fall semester graduating class in school history. Former Ragin' Cajuns quarterback Jake Delhomme, a 2001 graduate of the University, was guest speaker.

The Ragin' Cajuns football team had 15 members earn Bachelor's degrees including 2015 First-Team All-Sun Belt linebacker Dominique Tovell and Evan Tatford, the 2014-15 UL Male Student-Athlete of the Year and Sun Belt Conference representative on the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Other graduates from the Ragin' Cajuns football team included: Octravian Anderson, Montrel Carter, Karmichael Dunbar, Trey Granier, Jake Guidry, Marcus Jackson, Terry Johnson, Lance Pace, Torrey Pierce, Chris Prater, Effrem Reed, Greg Siener and Sean Thomas.

Two members of the Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team that claimed the 2014 Sun Belt Conference Championship – Xavian Rimmer and Braylon Lazare – also earned degrees along with current women's basketball player Sylvana Okde.

Dylan Butler and Kyle Clement, members of the Ragin' Cajuns baseball team that has earned a berth to the NCAA Super Regional the past two seasons, each earned degrees and were joined by softball graduates Katie Repole and Meagan Thomas.

Jarred Wynan and Nelo Phiri represented the Ragin' Cajuns men's and women's tennis team, respectively with Marcel Walzl (men's golf), Ashley Gussoni (women's soccer) and Christina Sanchez (women's soccer) each earning degrees.

Anna Devitt, the 2014 LSWA Cross Country Female Runner of the Year, was among a group of four student-athletes from the Ragin' Cajuns men's/women's track and field team that included Sean Bezdek, Tia Mitchell and Kaitlyn Moreau.

The Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team had three student-athletes earn degrees, including four-year letterwinners Kaylee Nemeth and Kelly Wiesmann and 2015 senior Katie Kyle.
