Ragin' Cajuns, Privateers Renew Hardwood Rivalry
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team will renew a rivalry with a former American South Conference and Sun Belt Conference foe on Monday when it plays host to New Orleans at the Cajundome.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on RaginCajuns.com and can also be heard in the Lafayette area on Hot 107.9-FM and ESPN 1420-AM.

The game between Louisiana (3-6) and New Orleans (3-6) marks the first meeting between the schools since the Ragin' Cajuns claimed a 70-53 victory at the Cajundome on Jan. 21, 2010. The schools were members of the ASC (1987-91) and the Sun Belt (1991-2010). The Privateers, under fifth-year coach Mark Slessinger, are current members of the Southland Conference.

The Ragin' Cajuns look to snap a three-game losing streak after falling in games at Louisiana Tech, No. 22 UCLA and Pepperdine. Louisiana was held to a season-low in points (59) and field goal percentage (30.6 percent) in their last game on Friday as Pepperdine outscored the Ragin' Cajuns, 46-25, in the second half.

Shawn Long (18.8 ppg., 12.3 rpg.) leads Louisiana in both scoring and rebounds with Jay Wright (11.2 ppg.) and Kasey Shepherd (11.2 ppg.) each scoring in double figures.
