Parking Changes To Take Place For Mardi Gras Classic

Fans urged to use UL Intramural, Sorority Row lots for weekend tournament
LAFAYETTE – Due to anticipated crowds around Cajun Field beginning Friday for "Le Festival de Mardi Gras a' Lafayette" and scheduled parades this weekend, Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns officials announced parking changes for softball fans attending the 2015 Mardi Gras Classic, presented by Hilton Lafayette, that begins on Friday at Lamson Park.
With Johnston St., being closed due to parades on Friday and Saturday, along with Cajundome Blvd., slated to be closed from 5-10 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.–10 p.m. on Saturday, all general parking for the three-day softball event will take place at the UL Intramural Fields and Sorority Row lots on Coliseum Drive.
All reserved parking for fans attending games on Friday and Saturday will be located at the UL Print Shop on Coliseum Drive. On Sunday, reserved parking for fans will resume at Lamson Park.
All lots for motorists will be accessible from West St. Mary Blvd., and Souvenir Gate.
Action in the four-team tournament begins at noon on Friday with Idaho State facing Mississippi Valley State. Louisiana (4-0), ranked No. 7 in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll and No. 8 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, will play Idaho State at 2:30 p.m. before facing MVSU at 5.
Tickets may be purchased at the Lamson Park Ticket Booth located at the main entrance of the park.
