NEW ORLEANS, La. – After weather forced the rescheduling of Louisiana's men's tennis match against Bryant on Wednesday, the Ragin' Cajuns took to City Park in New Orleans on Friday to pick up a 5-1 win over the Bulldogs.
The match was originally scheduled for Wednesday at Cajun Courts, but inclement weather in the Lafayette area forced the teams to move south on Friday. Louisiana (9-8) took five of the six singles matches played to clinch its third win in its last four tries.
Jake Wynan continued to play well this season, disposing of Bryant's top player, Matt Kuhar (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) at No. 1 singles. Edgar Lopez also picked up a win at No. 3 singles, taking down Oliver Welsh in straight sets (6-3, 6-2).
Will Huyton gave UL its third point of the match with a (6-3, 7-6) win over Max Vogt at the No. 4 spot, while Jarred Wynan dropped the second set against Luke Lorenz on the No. 5 court before closing it out in three sets (6-3, 4-6, 7-6).
Vlad Kramarov also earned a win at No. 6 singles over Jose Ortiz-Garcia (2-6, 6-2, 6-3).
The Cajuns will now head to the Lone Star State for a match at No. 17 TCU on Friday before taking on No. 34 Texas Tech in Lubbock on Sunday.
