3/24/2015 5:46:00 PM | Men's Basketball
LAFAYETTE, La. – As the excitement continues to build for Thursday's return to Blackham Coliseum, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns have finalized parking arrangements in addition to bringing back the Red Dot student section when the men's basketball team takes on Evansville at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the CIT.
Â
Fans planning to attend the first game in Blackham since 2006 will be able to park for free in the lots adjacent to Blackham Coliseum by showing their RCAF basketball parking pass for this season, or by presenting an RCAF membership card for 2014 or 2015. Otherwise, all parking at Blackham will be $10.
Â
Overflow parking will be available in the public lots along Coliseum Drive with the same $10 fee applying to those without a 2014 or 2015 RCAF membership card or a RCAF basketball parking pass for this season.
Â
The first 750 students will be admitted free, courtesy of: LUS Fiber, Ragin' Cajuns Strong Coffee and Coca Cola with additional contributions from David Friedrichs, Judice & Adley PLC and Percy Francis.
Â
Additionally, the Ragin' Cajuns will delve back into the rich history of Blackham Coliseum by bringing back the Red Dot student section. The first 1,000 students will receive free t-shirts as a nod to the student section that began in 1982.
Â
That season a group of students donned white t-shirts with a single red dot on the front for a game at UNO in which Alonza Allen hit a game-winner for a 70-68 Cajun victory. The group continued to wear the shirts at home games and the Cajuns won all eight of their final games at Blackham that season, going 16-1 at home on their way to a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Â
The Cajuns have been stellar at home under current head coach Bob Marlin, going 55-19 at home since the 2010-11 season and 12-3 this year.
