Cajuns Finish 11th At Lone Star Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team dropped six spots in the final round of the Lone Star Invitational after posting a score of 14-over (302) on Tuesday at the par 72, 7,247-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club.

No. 12 Texas Tech was the wire-to-wire winner posting a three-round score of 29-under (835). Southeastern Louisiana (-18, 846), UTEP (-14, 850), North Texas (-12, 852), and host UTSA (-11, 853) round out the top 5 teams.

Hannes Ronneblad of Texas Tech and Zander Lozano of UTSA finished in a tie for individual medalist honors at 9-under (207). Lozano carded a 67 (-5) in the final round to pull even with Ronneblad.

Sophomore Fernando Cruz Valle led the Ragin' Cajuns as he notched his 11th career top 25 performance finishing in a tie for 22nd at 2-under (214).

Haraldus Magnus dropped into a tie for 38th at 2-over (218), while Thomas Strandemo placed in a tie for 51st at 5-over (221) after seeing action for the first time in nearly a month.

Christian Verrougstraete closed out the event in a tie for 59th at 7-over (223). Ross Davis rounded out the scoring in a tie for 73rd at 11-over (227).

Louisiana returns to action April 6-7 as the squad closes out the regular season at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship hosted by Mississippi State.
