METAIRIE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to face No. 3 LSU at Zephyr Field in Metairie, La., in the annual Wally Pontiff Jr. Foundation Classic.

The Cajuns (15-10, 7-4 Sun Belt) are coming off of a series win over Arkansas State claiming the final two games of the series 9-6 and 3-0.

Sophomore left-hander Connor Toups will get the nod on the mound for Louisiana. Toups is 1-1 with a 1.00 ERA in nine innings. The Tigers (23-5, 5-4 SEC) will counter with senior left-hander Kyle Bouman (0-1, 8.31 ERA).

The Ragin' Cajuns are hitting .281 as a team led by junior Blake Trahan with a .385 average with 10 doubles, one homer and 14 RBI. Junior infielder Stefan Trosclair is the reigning LSWA Hitter of the Week after raising his average from .269 to .319 during the week batting .471 (8-for-17) with four doubles, drove in five runs and scored twice.

LSU leads the all-time series 49-24 winning three of the last five meetings. The Cajuns defeated the Tigers 4-1 a year ago at Alex Box Stadium.

The Tigers are coming off of a series loss against Kentucky at home losing two of three contests in extra innings. LSU boasts the second rated offense in the nation hitting .330 as a team. The Tigers are also ranked top 10 nationally in hits (339), triples (16) and slugging (.490).
