Volleyball To Host Spring Tournament On Saturday

LAFAYETTE, La. - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team will host a four-team spring tournament on Saturday, March 7, with play beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Earl K. Long Gym.
Louisiana is one of four teams in the field, joined by Southeastern Louisiana, Southern and San Jacinto College. Eight matches are scheduled for the day with the Cajuns squaring off against each of the three visiting squads in five total matches. The Cajuns will kick off the day with the first match of the tournament at 9:00 a.m. against San Jacinto.
That will be one of three times UL will face San Jacinto on the day, with two more matches against the Gators scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The Cajuns will also take on Southeastern Louisiana at 11:00 a.m. and Southern at 3:35 p.m. in the tournament finale.
A new match will occur each hour over the course of the day with matches lasting 45 minutes apiece with a running clock, lending to a quick pace of play.
The Cajuns went 20-13 in 2014, their first 20-win season since 1990. They return 14 players from that squad heading into the 2015 campaign including outside hitters Sara Mossakowski and Stacey Reilly, along with middle blocker Chanelle Gardner.
