LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team puts its six-game win streak on the line in a pair of mid-week games as the Cajuns are scheduled to face two in-state opponents, New Orleans and Southern, in non-conference action.
 
Louisiana (10-5, 3-0 Sun Belt) hosts the Privateers (6-10, 0-3 Southland) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field before heading east on I-10 to face Southern (2-9, 1-2 SWAC) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Lee-Hines Field.
 
Both games can be heard live with Tuesday's game on KPEL 96.5 FM and Wednesday's contest on ESPN 1420-AM with Jay Walker making the call. Wednesday's contest against the Jaguars will also be televised on Cox Sports Television (CST).
 
The Ragin' Cajuns are coming off of a sweep of Troy at home including a 10-5 win in the series finale. The Cajuns are hitting .287 as a team led by Nick Thurman and Blake Trahan. Thurman has a team-best .426 average and two triples, while Trahan is hitting .400 with nine doubles.
 
Sophomore left-hander Connor Toups will make his second start of the season against the Privateers. Toups is 1-0 on the year with a 3.00 ERA and three strikeouts. Right-hander Chris Charpentier is slated to make the start at Southern. Charpentier is 0-2 on the year with a 9.00 ERA in three appearances including two starts.
 
The Cajuns hold a 79-68 edge in the all-time series with New Orleans having won nine of the last 10 regular season meetings. Louisiana also holds a 49-23-1 lead in the all-time series with the Jaguars. The Ragin' Cajuns are 11-2 against Southern under the direction of head coach Tony Robichaux.
 
UNO comes into Tuesday's game having lost three straight after being swept by Sam Houston State on the road over the weekend. New Orleans will start left-hander Jordan Priddle on the mound. Priddle is 3-1 with a 5.06 ERA in five games.
 
As a team, the Privateers are hitting .257 with Ryan Calloway pacing the squad with a .344 average and six RBI.
 
Southern is coming off a 1-3 weekend against South Dakota State. The Jaguars claimed the final game of the series 10-4 after losing by a combined score of 27-11 in the first three games.
 
Tyler Kirksey leads Southern offensively hitting .429 with a home run and three RBI. D.J. Wallace is second on the squad with a .368 average and a team-best eight RBI.
 
Follow the two mid-week contests, Louisiana heads to Little Rock, Ark. to face UALR in a three-game conference series. Game one is slated for 6 p.m. Friday at Gary Hogan Field. The Cajuns and Trojans meet at 2 p.m. on Saturday before closing out the weekend at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
