LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns will close out the Sun Belt Conference portion of the regular season this weekend when they host Georgia Southern and No. 70 UT Arlington at Cajun Courts.

Louisiana enters the weekend on a hot streak, winning four of its last five matches after taking two of three last week at the Rice Invitational. Included in those wins was a victory over No. 40 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, a win that avenged a loss earlier this season on the Islanders' home court.

Head coach Mark Jeffrey's group has played arguably the toughest schedule in the Sun Belt this season, playing 13 of its 24 matches away from home while meeting 12 opponents head on who currently reside in the national rankings.

The Cajuns have done their damage with a balanced attack throughout the lineup, sporting six players with at least six singles wins while mixing and matching doubles pairs this season. Damian Farinola and Edgar Lopez seem to have found their form from a year ago when they posted 15 doubles victories, recently picking up a win over a top-25 duo from Texas Tech.

Will Huyton won both of his singles decisions last weekend against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and George Washington, while Coleman Wahlborg, Jake Wynan, Jarred Wynan and Vlad Kramarov have combined for 21 overall singles wins.

Georgia Southern is in its first season as a member of the Sun Belt Conference and is 7-11 overall after coming off a pair of wins last week over Bethune-Cookman and USC Upstate, snapping a five-match losing skid. The Eagles have taken on a pair of SBC foes this season, narrowly-dropping a 4-3 decision to Troy in late February before falling 7-0 to Appalachian State just over two weeks ago.

UT Arlington is led by the trio of Carolos Abriza, Daniel Armengol and Johnathan Gonzalez and enters the weekend ranked No. 70 in the latest ITA national rankings. The Mavericks knocked off No. 38 SMU on Tuesday, the third time UTA has knocked off a ranked opponent and the first time they have defeated the Ponies in over a decade. They come in at 11-6 overall with each of their last three losses coming at the hands of ranked opponents Baylor, TCU and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

First serve against the Eagles is set for 3:00 p.m. on Friday, followed by a 10:00 a.m. first serve against UT Arlington on Sunday morning.
