LAFAYETTE, La. Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns head volleyball head coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot announced on Thursday the addition of six newcomers to the 2015 roster.

Joining the Ragin' Cajuns is six of high school products in Antonia Antoine (Lafayette, La.), Julia Pasch (The Woodlands, Texas), Tylar Beckham (New Orleans, La.), Hanna Rovira (Baton Rouge, La.), Sydney Davis (Baton Rouge, La.) and Hannah Henry (San Diego, Calif.).

"This class has experience and maturity," Mazeitis-Fontenot said on Thursday. "We look for quite a few of them to be contributing immediately. They are all great students and accomplished young women."

Antoine is middle blocker from Acadiana High School where she earned all-district honors each of her last three years at AHS, including a first team nod as a senior. She served as a co-captain for the Rams and also competed for Cajun Elite on the club circuit, the same club that produced current Cajun middle blocker Chanelle Gardner.

Additionally, Antoine stayed active away from the court as well, earning the school's four-year distinguished scholar award while also taking part in National Honors Society, Beta Club and student council.

Pasch comes to the Cajuns after a successful career at The Woodlands High School that saw her earn all-District 16-6A first team honors in leading the Highlanders to their second consecutive state title in 2014 and first in the newly-created 6A classification, the largest in Texas.

She hit .242 for the year and averaged 1.6 kills, 2.3 digs and 1.4 blocks as a senior and went for 13 kills on 21 swings with just one attack error and four blocks in the 2014 state title match against League City Clear Falls High School, closing out a 41-3 season for the Highlanders.

Pasch earned Montgomery County Defensive Player of the Year honors as a senior and was named to the Houston area all-star team. She also earned an academic all-district nod each of the last two years and academic all-state in 2014.

The Cajuns will also add Beckham, a 6-0 middle blocker from McGehee High School who led the Hawks to the LHSAA Volleyball State Tournament as a senior. She was named to the all-New Orleans Small Schools team last season and earned both all-district and all-state recognition.

Another newcomer who excels both on and off the court, Beckham assumed numerous academic and club roles at MHS, including holding the presidency of the National Art Society. She also took part in the National Society of High School Scholars and won awards for Outstanding Community Service, US History Commendation and Academic Commendation.

Rovira comes to Lafayette after a standout career at St. Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge that saw her earn LVCA all-state honors each of the past two years.  A 5-11 outside hitter, she was a four-time all-district and all-metro choice, lettering all four years on varsity.

She also volunteered her time assisting the Leading Health Care of Louisiana, the Baton Rouge Bar Association and multiple efforts associated directly with St. Joseph's Academy.

Davis, a 5-11 hitter also from Baton Rouge (St. Joseph's Academy) and joins high school teammate Rovira on the list of incoming players after a three-year prep career. She was named St. Joseph's most improved player as a sophomore and earned all-district first team honors each of the next two seasons.

She was named to multiple all-tournament teams as a senior, also earning all-metro and all-state honors for the Redstickers. Davis took part in the East-West all-star game and helped lead SJA to consecutive state championships and 44-2 overall record in 2014.

Meanwhile, Henry is a 5-9 defensive specialist from San Diego, Calif. (La Costa Canyon HS) who was a varsity captain each of the past three seasons for a school consistently ranked among the top 100 high school programs in the country.

She began her volleyball career with two-time Olympian Pat Powers and most recently played for WAVE, a team ranked among the top 15 teams in the country on the club circuit. Currently she plays for the WAVE 18s for Marie Zidek, an assistant coach at the University of San Diego.
