WEST POINT, Miss. – The Ragin' Cajuns golf team closed out the 2014-15 regular season with a 15th place finish with a score of 26-over par (890) at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship hosted at the par-72, 7,088-yard Old Waverly Golf Club.

"I think the feeling is a bit down among the guys after today's performance," head coach Theo Sliman said. "Obviously this is not what I expected from our team. We are certainly better than we shows the last couple of days. We've bounced back from poor performances this year and I expect us to do the same as we head to the conference tournament later this month.
"With a bit of work and a continuing to learn and apply we will have a chance to come away with a result at the conference tournament. I still believe this team has yet to see it's best golf this season. We just need to come together as a team."
No. 32 UAB edged out No. 37 Florida for the tournament championship with a score of 14-under (850) besting the Gators by one stroke. Ole Miss (-8, 856), Mississippi State (+3, 867) and Southeastern Louisiana (+5, 869) round out the top 5 teams.
Casey Fernandez of Southern Miss carded a score of 6-under (66) in the final round to slip by Ole Miss' Blake Morris by one stroke to win individual medalist honors with a three-round score of 11-under (205).
Christian Verrougstraete led the Cajuns in a tie for 28th at 3-over (219). Senior Louis Kelly placed in a tie for 42nd at 6-over (222). Haraldur Magnus finished two strokes back of Kelly in a tie or 50th.
