Spring Volleyball Continues In Houston

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team continues its spring slate this weekend in Texas, when it takes on Rice on Friday before taking part in one of the nation's premier spring showcases, the F.A.S.T Collegiate Invitational on Saturday in Houston.
Louisiana, who is coming off a 20-13 campaign in 2014, will play in five total matches over the weekend, beginning with a Friday meeting at Rice, who it beat in the season-opening Adidas Rice Invitational to open up last year.
The Cajuns will then play four matches on Saturday at the F.A.S.T Complex, home of Houston Juniors, on Saturday as part of the 15-team invitational.
Louisiana will kick off Saturday at 10:30 a.m. against the University of Texas who is coming off a berth in last season's Final Four. Things will get no easier in the second match when they take on their second Big 12 foe of the day, Oklahoma at 1:30 p.m.
The Cajuns will close out the day with back-to-back matches with Houston Baptist and Lamar at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
Other teams involved in the F.A.S.T Collegiate Invitational include Baylor, Houston, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, SMU, Sam Houston State, TCU, UTSA, Texas A&M, Texas State and Texas Southern.
Admission to the Invitational is $10 for adults and students, and $8 for senior citizens with the complex located at 15400 Hempstead Rd. in Houston.
