Matchup Set for Cajuns Sun Belt Tournament Opener

SAN MARCOS, Texas– The No. 10 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team will face Georgia State in its opening contest at the 2015 Sun Belt Conference Softball Tournament here at Bobcat Softball Stadium at 2 p.m., on Thursday, May 7.
Georgia State (37-20) advanced to meet the top-seeded Ragin' Cajuns (37-8) with a 9-3 win over Troy in a single-elimination contest during Wednesday's quarterfinal round.
The UL-GAST matchup will be broadcast on SportsRadio ESPN 1420-AM with Steve Peloquin and Bobby Neveaux calling the action. Live video, with play-by-play from Lafayette's own Dan McDonald, will be available on SunBeltSports.org.
Thursday's Cajuns-Panthers matchup begins the double-elimination round of the SBC Tournament.
The loser faces elimination at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 8 while the winner advances to the winner's bracket final at 2 p.m., on Friday with a chance to earn a spot in Saturday's 1 p.m., championship game. Friday and Saturday action at the tournament will be aired on ESPN3.
The 10th-ranked Ragin' Cajuns, who picked up the program's 13th regular season SBC championship in the league's 15th season of regular season play with a sweep of ULM last weekend, seek to win the conference tournament for the second consecutive season and 13th time in the 16-year history of the event.
