TUSCON, Ariz. – After going unbeaten at the Houston Regional and picking up three straight wins over ranked opponents, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team earned its first ranking of the 2015 season coming in at 16th in the latest Collegiate Baseball poll, the publication announced Tuesday.

The Cajuns (42-21) are currently riding an eight-game win streak as they head to the Baton Rouge Super Regional to face LSU in the best-of-three series at Alex Box Stadium starting Saturday at 7 p.m.

Louisiana's last ranking came at the end of the 2014 season as the squad was ranked ninth in the final poll of the season.

Prior to this week, the Ragin' Cajuns had received votes in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and the NCBWA Poll, but had not broken into the rankings.
