BATON ROUGE, La. – After becoming one of only six programs in the country to reach the Super Regional round in back-to-back seasons, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to face the top-ranked and No. 2 national seed LSU in the Baton Rouge Super Regional starting Saturday at 7 p.m. at Alex Box Stadium.

Saturday's contest will be aired live on ESPN2 with Adam Amin making the call and Ben McDonald adding color. Kaylee Hartung will serve as the sideline reporter. All three contests will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.

Fans can also catch all of the Baton Rouge Super Regional games on either ESPN 1420-AM or New Talk 96.5 FM with Jay Walker calling the action. Live stats are available on RaginCajuns.com.

Start time for Sunday's contest will either be at 5 or 6 p.m. and will be determined Saturday evening, while first pitch for Monday's if necessary game will be announced on Sunday.

The Louisiana Athletic Department and head coach Tony Robichaux are hosting a watch party at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field for each super regional game. Gates open 30 minutes prior to each contest and fans are allowed to bring lawn chair and blankets to watch the contest from the field.

The Ragin' Cajuns (42-21) carry an eight-game win streak into the weekend after going 3-0 at the Houston Regional a week ago. Louisiana knocked off three ranked opponents having defeating Rice twice and Houston once. The Cajuns have limited opponents to two or less runs in six of the last eight contests to reach the super regional round.

The Ragin' Cajuns have given freshman right-hander Wyatt Marks (6-1, 3.32 ERA) the nod on Saturday night, while left-hander Gunner Leger (6-4, 2.87 ERA) will take the mound on Sunday.

Offensively, juniors Kyle Clement and Stefan Trosclair are tied for the team lead in average at .343. Trosclair has a team-best 16 home runs, 54 runs and 53 RBI. As a team, Louisiana is hitting .273 with 116 doubles and 56 homers.

The Tigers hold a 50-24 edge in the all-time series including a 6-1 mark in the postseason. The Ragin' Cajuns last faced LSU in the postseason in 2013 dropping a 5-1 in the Baton Rouge Regional championship game.

The super regional appearance is the fourth in program history for the Cajuns having gone to super regionals in 1999, 2000 and 2014. Robichaux has a 4-5 record all-time in super regional games.

LSU (51-10) also went undefeated in its regional a week ago. The Tigers defeated Lehigh 10-3 to open the tournament before posting back-to-back 2-0 victories against UNC Wilmington to advance to the super regionals.

Freshman right-hander Alex Lange (11-0, 1.76 ERA) will make the start for LSU in the opening game of the Baton Rouge Super Regional. Lange was recently named the Louisville Slugger Freshman of the Year.

The Tigers are ranked top 5 in the nation in average (.319), hits (722), doubles (140) and stolen bases (123).

All but one player in the starting lineup for LSU is hitting .300 or better on the season led by Andrew Stevenson who is batting .368 with 11 doubles, five triples and 21 RBI. Chris Chinea is second on the squad hitting .367 with a team-best 11 home runs and 58 RBI.
