Volleyball to Hold Red-White Scrimmage on Thursday

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team will host a Red-White scrimmage on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 5 p.m., in Earl K. Long Gym.

Admission is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 4 p.m.

The scrimmage will consist of a maximum of three sets, utilizing a best-of-three format. Each set will be played to 25 points, similar to regular season play.

The Ragin' Cajuns, coming off the program's first 20-win season since 1990, are currently in their second week of preseason camp in preparation for the 2015 season.

Following Thursday's scrimmage, Louisiana kicks off the 2015 season schedule Friday-Saturday, Aug. 28-29 in Lubbock, Texas at the Texas Tech Invitational. The Cajuns face Houston and Texas Tech on Aug. 28 and wrap up tournament play against Utah State on Aug. 29.

The first regular season matches at Earl K. Long Gym take place Sept. 4-5 in the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Volleyball Classic.
