Women’s Tennis Begins 2015-16 Season at ULM

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Cajuns women's tennis team travels to Monroe, La. to participate in the ULM Fall Tournament to kick off the new season from Friday, Sept. 18 through Sunday, Sept. 20.
This will be the first time the Ragin' Cajuns will participate in the fall season opening tournament at Raymond Heard Stadium.
The Cajuns are led under the direction of first-year head coach Stephanie Vallejos. They return seven players from last season led by seniors Melissa Burckhartt and Juliette Clement.
"With this first tournament, it's exciting for us to get back to playing," Vallejos said. "Most of our returning players will be playing this weekend so I am looking for a mature style of play. With our younger players, I want to see how mentally tough they can be in pressure situations."
The field will consist of student-athletes from Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, South Alabama and Southern Miss.
