LAFAYETTE --
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Tennis team turned in a strong showing on the second day of the Cajun Tennis Classic at Cajun Courts on Friday.

Cajuns senior Edgar Lopez bounced back from a Championship Singles Round of 32 loss to defeat Ole Miss' Filip Kraljevic 6-3, 7-5 to advance to the Consolation Singles Semifinals. Freshman Arthur Libaud came back to take down Florin Bragusi of Oklahoma in consecutive sets 6-3, 6-1, joining Lopez in the back draw singles semifinals tomorrow.

In the Round of 16 Championship Doubles, Louisiana's duo of junior Will Huyton and Libaud advanced by default over LSU's Boris Arias and Jordan Daigle (injury).

The Huyton/Libaud duo then went on to defeat Lousiana's pairing of Coleman Wahlborg and Lopez 7-5, 7-6 to advance to the championship doubles semifinals.

The Huyton/Libaud duo will face Vinod Gowda and Grey Hamilton of the Ole Miss Rebels Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Championship Doubles Semifinal round.

"We had a much better second day than first day," Ragin' Cajuns head coach Mark Jeffrey said. "We performed much better in this year's Cajun Classic with four top 10 teams vs. last year's field of two top 10 teams. Kudos to our guys, they've done a great job of competing and hanging in there. Every match that we have played has been close. It's a good step towards getting ready for Sun Belt Conference play in the spring."

Consolation singles play will resume Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The semifinals championship singles will begin at noon followed by the doubles semifinals championship at 2:30 p.m.
