LAFAYETTE – Looking to move above the .500 mark for the first time this season, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team battles a pair of in-state opponents this weekend. The Cajuns visit McNeese State on Friday, Sept. 4 at Cowgirl Field for a 7 p.m. kickoff and finish the week with a home date against the Northwestern State Lady Demons Sunday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m.

Last week, the Cajuns put together two strong performances on the road against Ole Miss and Southern Miss to even their season record at 2-2. The Cajuns fell in a close 3-1 contest to the Rebels last Friday evening and topped the Golden Eagles, 2-1 in Hattiesburg last Sunday.

Junior forward Yazmin Montoya is on the brink of becoming the program's all-time leader in several categories. She owns 50 career points and is three shy of passing Courtney Hofland for the most in school history. The West Covina, Calif. native has 20 career goals and stands two away from moving ahead of Kelli Jestes, and has 10 assists, three short from setting a new program benchmark.

Cajuns Notes

* Junior forward Yazmin Montoya's assist against Southern Miss tied Sara Vienberg for second place on the Cajuns' all-time list with 10. She also reached the 50-point plateau, moving her into a second-place tie with Kelli Jestes in Ragin' Cajuns history.

* Through four matches, junior midfielder Kimberly Grasso is tied for second in goals (2), tied for fifth in points (4), tied for fifth in points per game (1.33) and sixth in the Sun Belt Conference in shot attempts (10).
