Men's Tennis Rolls to Two Victories Against Xavier (La.)

LAFAYETTE -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team earned a pair of victories over visiting Xavier (La.), sweeping by finals of 7-0 and 4-0 Monday at the Cajun Tennis Courts.
The Cajuns improved to 2-1 this season with the wins.
In the first doubles match, junior Will Huyton and freshman Arthur Libaud defeated Xavier's Karan Salwan and Tushar Mandlekar, 6-4. The second doubles pairing of junior Eric Perez and senior Edgar Lopez prevailed, 6-2 against Kevin Chaouat and Adam Albrecht.
Leading 1-0, Lbaud (6-3, 5-7, 10-3 tiebreaker), Lopez (7-5, 6-1), junior Coleman Wahlborg (6-2, 6-3), sophomore Vlad Kamarov (7-5, 10-3) and Perez (6-3, 6-1) swept the 1-through-5 singles matches. Huyton won by default in Singles No. 6.
In the day's second match, Xavier's duo of Salwan/Chaouat defeated UL's pairing of Huyton/Libaud, 6-2. The Cajuns came back in the second doubles, riding the duo of Perez/Lopez to a 6-2 win over Mandlekar and Manav Chakma. Kramarov and Wahlborg then won by default in the No. 3 doubles to take the doubles point.
Louisiana picked up their second point via default win by Kramarov. The Cajuns ended the afternoon with two more singles victories courtesy of Libaud (6-0, 6-2), who defeated Mandlekar and Wahlborg, who took down Chaouat, 6-1, 6-1.
Next up for the Cajuns is a match with No. 62 UTSA in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, Jan. 29. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
